Vice-Presidential candidate of the Chieftains of Action Congress (AC) Senator Ben Ndi-Obi Friday lashed out at the PDP as a band of undemocratic people who wants to get into power through rigging.
He argued that so far they have failed to elect a candidate for the February 2010 governorship elections in Anambra State due to its inability to play by the rules.
In a rally at Awka, the State capital, AC’s flagbearer election, Dr. Chris Ngige and other chieftains of the party vowed to resist any attempt by the PDP to rig itself into power in the State.
According to Senator Ben Ndi-Obi, the PDP as undemocratic and evil, “PDP is People Destroying People (PDP), I won elections to the Senate under the PDP, and I was a victim of their recklessness and injustice.
"So far, PDP has no candidate for the 2010 governorship elections, they organized no congress, they are no democrats, they are preparing another re-colonisation of Anambra State, but we in AC will resist them. We will fight them to the last.
"February 6, 2010 is liberation day for Anambra people, we have commenced a struggle for the liberation of Anambra State. Because of PDP’s recklessness, Anambra State has become a laughingstock. But AC, led by our governorship candidate , Dr Chris Ngige will run the PDP out of this state, from ward to ward, we will run the PDP out of the South-East zone, it has no business being her again..
"The founding fathers of the PDP has left the party, only the carcass remains, it has no soul”
Addressing party supporters, including its national officers, Dr, Ngige adds that he and others were de-registered by the PDP.
He debunked insinuations that the AC is a South-West party. “The AC is the reincarnation of United Peoples Grand Alliance (UPGA) founded by the coalition of the NCNC, AG, MBC, NEPU and the Borno Youths Movement (BYM)
“Our mandate in Anambra State is to sweep away corruption and godfatherism, and enthrone a government that will improve the lives of Anambra State people."
